# Amazon — Developers can now access SageMaker Studio through the new AWS experience

Amazon is letting new SageMaker AI customers sign up for AWS with an identity they already have and land in a fully configured SageMaker Studio environment in a few steps. The company says the change removes the last major hurdle between discovering a model and building with it, since new customers previously had to verify an email, phone number and payment details before starting. Sign-up now accepts Google, GitHub, Apple or Amazon accounts, or an email address, in 2–3 steps, without the advanced AWS account sign-up, phone verification or a credit card for most customers. SageMaker AI then creates the Studio environment in about 20 seconds, and new customers receive $100 in AWS Free Tier credits that work across model customization, training jobs, Studio notebooks and endpoint deployments, with a chance to earn another $100. The Free Tier period ends after 6 months or when the credits run out, whichever comes first, at which point resource usage stops automatically and customers can upgrade to a paid plan by adding payment details. New environments carry earlier improvements: pre-configured permissions for model customization, training, evaluation and deployment, default access to G5, G6 and G4dn GPU instances for eligible accounts, and an instance menu showing quota availability. The new sign-in experience is available for new AWS accounts only; existing account holders sign in as before.
