GitHub announced it will deprecate several models across all Copilot experiences on November 16, 2026. Claude Opus 4.8 will remain available to individual Copilot subscribers on annual plans. Suggested alternative models are automatically enabled for Copilot Enterprise and Business customers unless an administrator has changed the default settings.
