Anthropic announced it has given employee-like access to a team from METR, a nonprofit that evaluates frontier AI models, as part of its commitment to independent third-party assessment. METR will publish its risk assessments, and Anthropic cannot veto publication but can require redaction of narrow pre-defined categories. Anthropic is also working with SecureBio, Accenture, and Faculty as evaluators, and is developing three tiers of access for evaluators.

## Evidence

Verbatim from https://www.anthropic.com/news/an-update-on-independent-evaluators:

> We've onboarded six METR employees with company hardware, office space, and access to internal tools and systems that are roughly on par with what our own risk assessment teams have access to.
