Anthropic announced that Claude Managed Agents, the Messages API, and Claude SDKs can now export OpenTelemetry traces to any OTel-compatible tool, allowing users to trace model calls, tool use, and MCP server calls. The feature is in public beta and works with tools such as Grafana Cloud, Honeycomb, Sentry, Splunk, Arize AI, Braintrust, Datadog, Langfuse, LangSmith, New Relic, and PostHog. Managed Agents and the Messages API require a destination configured in the Claude Console, while Claude SDKs export traces automatically.
