Supabase announced code-first project management, letting schema and config live in code so agents can set up and change projects. Local development now runs as native processes without Docker, supporting multiple instances per directory. The company introduced Supabase Compute for running web services and agents next to the database, and Multigres, an open-source multi-node high-availability Postgres solution in private alpha.

## Evidence

Verbatim from https://supabase.com/blog/supabase-select-2026-recap:

> Local Supabase can now run as native processes, so it starts on machines without a Docker daemon, like Claude Code's sandbox. You can also run multiple local Supabase instances, one per directory, so several checkouts of the same repo run at the same time.
