Vercel added an option to disable automatic promotion of production deployments, allowing teams to run custom CI checks on the built deployment before it becomes visible to end users. The deployment is promoted only when the user runs a promote command via CLI, API, or UI. This enables workflows that remove the need for a merge queue while still ensuring safety.
