- Subject: v0 / AI SDK / AI Gateway

Mux built @mux/ai, an open-source SDK for AI features on video infrastructure, using Vercel's Workflow DevKit to provide durable execution. The SDK uses "use workflow" and "use step" directives that enable automatic retries, state persistence, and observability when deployed in a Workflow DevKit environment, while remaining a normal Node package otherwise. Workflows can be developed locally and deployed to Vercel with zero infrastructure configuration and built-in observability.

## Evidence

Verbatim from https://vercel.com/blog/how-mux-shipped-durable-video-workflows-with-their-mux-ai-sdk:

> The "use workflow" and "use step" directives let us mark functions in the SDK for durable execution without changing how you write code. If you're in a standard Node environment, those directives are ignored. It's a no-op. If you're running in a Workflow DevKit environment, they give you automatic retries, state persistence, and observability.
