Vercel announced Fluid, a unified compute layer that runs builds, sandboxes, and functions on a single system. Fluid assembles a machine for each workload, uses Hive for isolated VM provisioning, and supports custom images via Vercel Container Registry. Vercel Drives provide portable storage that outlives the compute, currently in private beta for sandboxes.

> Fluid compute now runs over 15 million builds a day, 25 million sandboxes a week, and a trillion requests a month.
