Isomorphic Labs, together with Google DeepMind, developed AlphaFold 3, an AI model that predicts the 3D structure of biomolecular complexes including multiple proteins, DNA, RNA, and small molecule ligands. The model uses a diffusion process and a neural network architecture built on a custom Transformer with triangular attention, trained on data from the Protein Data Bank. Isomorphic Labs reports using AlphaFold 3 in daily drug design work, including predicting structures for previously uncharacterized complexes and evaluating a TIM-3 immune checkpoint target.
