- Subject: Replit Agent

Replit released a new Python template that uses a content-addressable cache of individual package files, allowing symbolic links instead of full file copies. This reduces disk usage so large packages like TensorFlow fit on repls, and makes hosted Python repls start faster because the needed files are already present.

## Evidence

Verbatim from https://replit.com/blog/python-new-template:

> This new cache contains a pool of all the files that are listed in all of the wheel's RECORD file of all the Python packages that have been installed in a repl, where the name of each file is derived from the SHA-256 hash of the file. This makes the files have the content-addressable property.
